Senior Developer
Prediction Group LLC is a leading, proprietary trading firm founded in 2012 by two quants. Our portfolio managers and researchers focus on model-based signal generation in global equity markets. Technology is at the core of what we do.
We are looking for a senior software engineer to help us design and build an internal system serving all business needs. Our tech is:
- a desktop application in C#/WPF/DevExpress
- Python scripts and libraries with Excel as a front end
- ASP.NET Web API and Python Flask services
- MySQL databaseThe future of the system is more of all of it – ingest more financial and trading data, present more of it to the users for manipulation in the app, support portfolio managers and traders writing more Python for their analysis needs, and automate everything. This probably means more services and leveraging Azure Cloud PaaS solutions, but the road is open and many design decisions are yet to be made.A good candidate will have 7+ years of experience in software development. You have strong C# and Python skills. You are familiar with modern development practices and will help us integrate them into our process. You are interested in and comfortable with all aspects and responsibilities of running a system: managing servers and databases, developing, testing, supporting production, and helping users. Experience with WPF, ASP.NET, DevExpress, Azure Cloud are a big plus. This role is a good fit for a strong engineer who is interested in owning and growing a system while increasing their knowledge in the process. You’ll be a big part of a small team of smart people expanding a profitable business.We work as a remote team (even before the pandemic), though a number of employees who prefer a hybrid role historically used our office in NYC. To succeed you need to be interested in what you do, be organized, have strong time-management skills, and be a proactive communicator.
